Additional Charges

The price of the 400L solar hot water system is for straight replacement of an existing electric hot water system, in the same location in a standard lowset house. Occassionally, we are faced with installations that fall outside of these standard conditions, and require a bit more work, or additional equipment. This includes:

• If the tank for the solar hot water system is to be relocated, or additional pipe is required for a highset house, then a surcharge will apply. The surcharge will be based on the additional labour and materials costs associated with the relocation of the tank and pipes.
• There is a copper allowance  of 2.5 meters from tank for discharge pipes from the PTR (Pressure and Temperature Relief) valve and cold water expansion valve. You will be charged $12.10 per meter including 10% GST for additional pipe to a maximum of 30 meters.
• If a frost protection valve is required, the surcharge will be $385 including GST.
• Where the customer wishes to keep their hot water system inside, then a containment tray may need to be installed. The surcharge will be $250 including GST.
• For emergency hot water replacement service, an additional call out fee of $150 will apply.
